Kids Electric Scooters: few safety tips
One of the best present you can give to your kids is an electric scooter. Male and female alike will love their scooter and will have lot of fun riding around the neighborhood. Some parents are concerned about safety issues. First of all a parent should closely supervise a kid riding a scooter until the kid feels confident and knows exactly how to manoeuvre his toy: it’s really important to teach your child how to ride an electric vehicle safely and it’s essential that a kid start using an electric scooter after being able to perfectly use a bicycle.
The main accessories needed to use the electric scooter safely are a helmet and pads because parents should take into account occasional crashes which at least at first are unavoidable: a kid might need some time to learn! Using a helmet and pads will keep the scrapes and scratches to a minimum.
Obviously, there are few rules kids must follow: they must be aware that they can be of danger for other people, should know traffic signals, only drive with daylight and avoid traffic by all means. Manufactures clearly state that the riders are responsible for knowing and obeying all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the riding and use of scooters.
Kids Electric Scooters can ride at low controlled speeds. Unlike the gas scooters, the electric scooters for kids are powered by a rechargeable battery and are limited to a top speed of 15 miles per hour but more than likely won’t go much more than 10 miles per hour which is enough to have fun without being dangerous. That’s because the maximum speed given by the manufacturer takes into account only a flat surface without considering eventual hills and other possible variables such as the rider weight and the kind of terrain.
Nevertheless, surprisingly, some parents complain that such a speed is not enough. Consider that speed also depends on the model, some are more powerful, other less, some are more suitable for teens, other for preteens, but most important they are toys and a very high speed is not necessary for kids to enjoy their electric scooters.
